We consider the competition for the Artists Workshop Residence project to be a unique opportunity to bring together two fundamental aspects in the realm of cultural production: the Artist and the Craftsman. These two poles of thinking and creativity represent the continuous human engagement with Art (Techne) and Artisanry (techniki). The vision of the originator of the project presents for us an opportunity to explore a vision where the House becomes a Workshop and the Workshop becomes a House. In this architectural constellation, the idea of Work and Living becomes a matter of Lifestyle, where the resident artists, engage with the local context in a House that is a Hub for the cross-fertilization of contemporary ideas into the traditional Tunisian Crafts and vice versa.
