When we visited the house of Facella and Oriani in Hammamet in January 2022 we were impressed with the level of architectural l rigor, precision, and careful consideration with which the house is designed and the way it has evolved historically. The House has a history and its history is engraved in the details, the carefully curated axial lines that transform this vernacular Mediterranean beach house into an important piece of Architecture.

We are grateful for the opportunity that was given to us by the client, through the support and kind influence. We consider that the challenge here is not simply to extend the house to fit the new family or simplistically adapt it from the living space of the Architect couple to that of a contemporary worldly family but to use carefully considered architectonic interventions to radically transform the embedded tectonic relationships with a great degree of precision.
