We look at the History of Humanity from the point of view of the present at the precipice of the digital revolution.”. This project presents the challenge of institutionalising this powerful knowledge for the future, in a building of the highest technical and technological specification throughout.

We believe, that the project’s programme and museological content is of global significance. As one of the few museums that would combine both prehistoric to late Classical/ pre-Christian artefacts, the merit here is to produce an Museological content that is based on the scientific Archaeological principles of Discovery, Investigation and Analysis and Narrative and Preservation.

A constellation of ellipsoidal volumes that are geometrically arranged against a central area. Each ellipsoid is unique in physical form and size but together they form a coherent group of spaces that hold each of the 6 main departments of the NCM.

The constellation is enclosed by a layered geometry that is loosely fitted around the ellipsoidal volumes, enclosing the spaces and supporting the roof by means of two rows of pin- shaped columns arrayed in different densities and holding an ultra-

The constellation is enclosed by a layered geometry that is loosely fitted around the ellipsoidal volumes, enclosing the spaces and supporting the roof by means of two rows of pin- shaped columns arrayed in different densities and holding an ultra-thin roof, of a shape smoothly derived from the initial composition and that seems to float over the spaces.

The overall appearance of the space is one that is firstly perceived by the variable density of columns through a transparent glazed skin within which develops an overall open, visually transparent and fluid interior where Movement, Discovery and I

The overall appearance of the space is one that is firstly perceived by the variable density of columns through a transparent glazed skin within which develops an overall open, visually transparent and fluid interior where Movement, Discovery and Investigation are key to the experience of the Visitors.
